A delegation from the Republic of Moldova, including Secretary of State Viorel Garaz, participated in a meeting of high representatives from the United States of America, the European Union, the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine, and Romania, which took place today in Galați. During this meeting, officials addressed the topic of optimizing alternative transportation routes for cereals originating from Ukraine.
The State Secretary within the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, Viorel Garaz, noted that in order to accelerate the transit of goods to the European Union, it is essential to intensify investments.
„The state is making remarkable efforts for the revitalization of the railway infrastructure and for attracting investments in expanding the port infrastructure. These measures will lead to an increase in the transport capacity for Ukrainian cereals, with a positive effect on the export costs for Moldovan cereals. Moreover, these initiatives will contribute to maintaining the road infrastructure and relieving the national roads of thousands of trucks,” highlighted Viorel Garaz.
