The Agreement with the CIS regarding the dissemination of interstate standardization documents will be denounced

At the initiative of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, due to lack of relevance, the Agreement prepared on the platform of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) regarding the dissemination of intergovernmental standardization documents, prepared in Dushanbe on June 1, 2018, will be denounced.
According to the draft Government resolution, in accordance with the commitments stipulated in the Association Agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union, European norms and standards are adopted, while ГОСТ standards will be repealed as they present inconsistencies with European or international standards.
In accordance with Article 16 of Law no. 20/2016, Moldovan, European, international, interstate, and other country’s standards, including their projects, are considered scientific works and are protected by copyright, by the national standardization body. In this regard, the Agreement is not relevant for the Republic of Moldova.
From another perspective, the Agreement also covers interstate classifiers for technical, economic, and social information, and in the Republic of Moldova, these classifiers are public.
We remind you that, in previous Government meetings, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development (MDED) proposed the termination of other similar agreements, most of which had already been approved by Parliament.
