The compensation period for transition expenses in self-employment for former patent holders – extended until September 15th

At the initiative of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, the Cabinet of Ministers has extended, for two weeks, the period during which former patent holders can apply for compensation for transition expenses related to self-employment, up to the amount of 10,000 lei.

The measure was approved to encourage traders to purchase home equipment and, at the same time, to carry out other necessary work for the transition to the new regime.

„I’ve noticed a positive trend in the last two weeks, with nearly a thousand former patent holders transitioning to the new independent activity regime. Taking into account that until August 31 – the last day for requesting compensation – only a few days are left, some of them may not manage to apply for expense reimbursement. Therefore, we are extending the compensation deadline by two weeks, until September 15th,” stated Dumitru Alaiba.

To request compensation, applications can be submitted online until the current date of September 15th, at https://compensare.oda.md/ or at the territorial offices of the State Fiscal Service (SFS). After the approval of the request, within 30 days, compensations for expenses incurred starting from January 1, 2023, will be granted.
