The first electric bus, produced in Moldova. Deputy Prime Minister Dumitru Alaiba: „The automotive industry is gaining a new breath.”

In the Republic of Moldova, the first electric bus with dynamic charging has been produced, which can travel autonomously for 70 kilometers and complies with all international standards in the field. The electric bus was assembled by engineers from the company „Informbusiness,” specialized in manufacturing electronic equipment for transportation, which is exported to over 170 cities worldwide.

At the presentation event held in the Măgdăcești commune, Prime Minister Dorin Recean thanked the individuals involved in the project’s implementation, highlighting their dedication and involvement in the development of a key sector for the country’s economy. According to the Prime Minister, the project is significant on multiple dimensions – economic development, boosting the electronics sector, and the electrification aspect, with the assembly of an electric bus being a concrete action in the context of transitioning to green energy. „The implemented project is a beginning for the growth of this industry. I encourage everyone to persevere and innovate in our country,” said Prime Minister Dorin Recean.

In turn, the Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, Dumitru Alaiba, emphasized that the Government will continue to support producers who are developing various sectors of the economy: „Thanks to your efforts, the automotive industry is gaining new momentum, and the Republic of Moldova is becoming a car manufacturer by obtaining its first VIN code.” Your success is the success of the entire country.”

The Minister of Energy, Victor Parlicov, emphasized that approximately 35% of all the energy in our country is consumed by transportation, and the simplest way to decarbonize transportation is its electrification. „We are becoming a country that not only consumes but also generates high-performance technologies. At the same time, we offer our young people a perspective of integration into modern fields that didn’t exist previously in our country,” said Minister Victor Parlicov.

The founder and leader of the „Informbusiness” enterprise, Vitalie Eșanu, spoke about the company’s achievements and the intention to further develop the business. In the current year, the company will deliver the first 25 autonomous electric buses to the municipality of Bălți. Also, the company will export to Ukraine, Romania, and other countries where there is demand for such means of transportation. Long-term, the company founder aims to build an electric bus assembly plant in the village of Trușeni.
