The mission of the Cabinet of the Minister of Economy is to ensure a stimulating and efficient framework in the activity of the Ministry of Economy by optimizing the working agenda of the Minister, monitoring the fulfillment of indications, decisions and planned activities, providing support in the exercise of the functions of coordination of the activity of central public authorities under the coordination of the Minister, as well as in the organization and conduct of councils, colleges, commissions and other events in the fields of activity of the Ministry.

Mission of the Directorate for Policy Analysis, Monitoring and Evaluation(DAMEP)) is to ensure the efficiency of the strategic planning process within the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure by coordinating the analysis, monitoring and evaluation of national and cross-sectoral public policy documents according to the Ministry’s areas of activity, as well as to ensure the quality of the Ministry’s draft legislative and regulatory acts in terms of compliance with the requirements of legislative technique and policy document requirements.

• Coordinates the budget preparation process within the Ministry, accounting and financial management, and the transparency of spending of budget funds;
• It coordinates the activity related to the legal insurance of the Ministry, the procurement of goods and services for the needs of the central apparatus of the Ministry and subordinate institutions as well as the representation of the interests of the Ministry in courts and other institutions;
• Coordinates the implementation and promotion of personnel policies and procedures;
• Coordinates document management processes within the Ministry;
• Coordinates activities related to the implementation of the e-Transformation agenda within the Ministry;
• Coordinates the Ministry’s effective information and communication processes with the general public, civil society representatives and the media.

The Information and Communication with the Media Service ensures efficient and transparent communication of the central public institution with the media, the general public, the representatives of civil society, in order to inform the society about the activity of the Ministry of Economy in an operative, truthful and complete way.

The Financial-Administrative Service of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure is a structural support subdivision, performing financial administration and accounting, technical-material supply, technical and organizational assistance, ensuring the necessary conditions for the Ministry’s activity.

The mission of the Service is to maintain and strengthen the financial and budgetary management of the Ministry, contributing to the achievement of its objectives by:

– compliance with the regulatory framework and internal regulations;

– effectiveness and efficiency of operations;

– safety and optimisation of assets and liabilities;

– security and integrity of information.

The mission of the Information and Communication Technology Service is to ensure the synchronisation of sectoral policies and strategies with the government’s technological modernisation programme in order to effectively achieve the authority’s tasks and objectives, increase its operational performance and the quality of public services provided to citizens.

Investment Attraction and Industrial Development Policies Section

The mission of the Section is to ensure a favourable climate for the creation and development of the business environment by optimising the regulatory framework for entrepreneurial activity.

The mission of the International Economic Cooperation Directorate is to develop the strategic directions of the state’s foreign economic policy with a view to integrating the national economy into the global economy and protecting national economic interests, as well as to promote, expand and diversify mutually beneficial bilateral and multilateral cooperation at the international level.

The functions of the directorate include the development of the bilateral legal framework at inter-state, intergovernmental, inter-ministerial and inter-regional level, which regulates the trade-economic and investment relations of the Republic of Moldova with other states, the implementation and monitoring of the application of international economic treaties, the establishment of joint committees and working groups, whose activity is regulated by agreements, bilateral and multilateral economic treaties, as well as the coordination of the implementation of decisions taken by joint committees and working groups on trade-economic cooperation.

The Quality Infrastructure and Market Surveillance Directorate is responsible for ensuring the development and implementation of the legislative framework in the fields of metrology, standardisation, technical regulation and conformity assessment, as well as market surveillance and consumer protection, technical surveillance and industrial safety.

The Directorate aims to promote the state policy in the field of metrology and is responsible for promoting uniformity and accuracy of measurements in the Republic of Moldova, as well as improving the legislative framework to ensure traceability of measurement results to the International System of Units.

The Directorate promotes state policy in the field of market surveillance and consumer protection, technical surveillance and industrial safety by developing an appropriate regulatory and technical framework.

The Foreign Economic Relations Section is the structural subdivision of the Ministry, which has the mission to participate in the elaboration and promotion of policies in the field of foreign trade development according to the priorities of the foreign policy of the state, as well as to coordinate activities related to the promotion of the objectives of the economic diplomacy of the Republic of Moldova abroad.

The Trade Arrangements and World Trade Organisation Section is the structural division of the Ministry that provides the basis for and coordinates preferential trade arrangements with foreign countries

Special Problems Service has the task of drafting internal regulations and administrative acts on the protection of information classified as state secret, coordinating the activity of protection of secret information and control over the fulfilment of the requirements in force, as well as the implementation of programmes to prevent the leakage of information classified as state secret.
