The Government approved on 13 October 2020 the pilot programme for the creation of 18 Multifunctional Industrial Platforms (MIP) in the Republic of Moldova.

The Multifunctional Industrial Platform is a delimited and unencumbered land, equipped with technical and production infrastructure, where economic activities are carried out, mainly in the field of industry, in order to exploit the human and material potential of the given region.

The main objective of the Programme is to ensure sustainable regional development and efficient use of human resources by increasing competitiveness, productivity, employment in the industrial sector in each region of the country.

Thus, under the Programme, IMPs will be built in Briceni, Dondușeni, Râșcani, Glodeni, Sângerei, Șoldănești, Florești, Telenești, Criuleni, Ialoveni, Anenii Noi, Leova, Cantemir, Basarabeasca, Dubăsari and Ocnița.

According to the Law on the State Budget for 2020, financial means amounting to 50 million lei are foreseen for the creation of the IMP infrastructure. The Organisation for the Development of the Small and Medium Enterprise Sector has been designated as the implementing unit for this pilot programme.
